Upcoming Events

Grief Group | Monday, January 29, 2018 7:00 PM-8:30 PM

The Annual Grief Group is back.  We have had such heartfelt conversations and everyone has left the meeting with some comfort and coping skills.

This year will be different.  We are only going to concentrate on the losses you all face due to your disability.  Examples for this could be your not being able to drive, your inability to not get the job you really want or be employed full-time,  continuing to have some dependence on your parents, not being able to do things your siblings do, and the loss of confidence in dealing with certain situations.

It will be another wonderful evening of talking, sharing, listening, and support.

This will be led by the same grief counselors we have had in the past; Jenny and Katie.

The cost is free.

Parents are invited to a parallel meeting for parents.

Hope we see you at the meeting.

Afternoon at the Movies - CANCELLED! | Sunday, January 14, 2018 2:00 PM-6:00 PM

This event is CANCELLED for Jan. 14.  Reasons:  Snow and possible icy roads, Vikings playoff in Minneapolis causing extra traffic, most attending driving from a longer distance and coming through Minneapolis.  This will be rescheduled for a later time.  Please see post of Member Pages.  Thanks for your understanding!

Join us for an afternoon at the movies.  We had this event a few years ago and everyone had a great time!

We will meet at a movie theater with several screens and members can choose their movie and attend with friends.  We will find a time to meet that coincides with several movie times.  This particular theater has a lounge area where everyone can meet-up.

Afterwards, we will go eat together and talk about the movies.  We will eat at a nearby restaurant that has large seating areas and you can move around.  It also has a bowling alley and arcade for anyone interested.

Cost for a movie and dinner will be around $30 depending on what you order for dinner.  You will pay for your own movie and dinner right at the venue.

The Ugly Sweater Dance and evening of fun is back!  If you don't dance, there will be games you can play. This is our 4th and they keep getting better.

Our own Tyler will be the DJ for the evening and will have some fabulous tunes for us!  He is going to be accompanied by a special DJ from GenNOW.  They are probably the top DJ company in the Twin Cities.  They work with the Timberwolves and Lynx!  It will be a great night of energizing music, great company, and food.

Bring your siblings along.  Let's see some great dance moves from everyone!  Wear your most gaudy or fun Christmas/holiday sweater.  We have seen great creativity!
